Doors open

Sixteen tenants have moved into one Chicago apartment house, each with a flat, a job and a notice pinned on the laundry-room board. You knock, her door opens on what she wants from you, and she remembers what was said.

A key is free. For your first 3 days every door is open; after that the Short stay allows 10 knocks a day, and the Long lease lifts the count.

Each tenant's portrait is on her nameplate, and her banner hangs in the lobby. The board will be reshuffled in batches, and any change will appear here first.
