The Laundry Room Board
Sixteen notices pinned between the dryers, one per tenant, each written in her own voice. Narrow them by where in the building they hang and how they feel, then press Reply: her door opens with the notice already on it, and you answer from within the quarrel. It is all text, and the board is updated in batches.

Laundry room · CuriousLAUNDRY DAY is my one social event, and I would like to announce that dryer two is mine between six and eight. Also, I have questions. Stairwell · WearyTO THE VIOLIN: I come home at seven a.m. after twelve hours on a ward, and I would give a great deal for a dark and silent room.I have not said it to her face. I would like to say it to someone with an opinion. You, perhaps. Come and have tea, and be on my side.Shirin Moradi Reply
Mailboxes · DiscreetMAIL NOTICE: I carry everyone's post up these stairs, and I know who gets what, and from where.I say nothing. I have said nothing for nineteen years, mostly because nobody has asked in the right way.Ask me in the right way, and I might say a little.Beverly Tate Reply
